This museum’s shop is run by the renowned art book store Walther König from Cologne. Lanzfeld Editions has been working with this company for many years; not only do they have merchandise made for the permanent collection, they also commission merchandise for the exhibitions in museums in which they manage shops. In the case of the Nationalgalerie, the decision was taken to transform two popular works by Johann Adam Schlesinger (1759-1829) from the permanent collection into the product line. During the course of this collaboration, it was decided to give prominence to the graphical identity of the museum, while Lanzfeld was also able to include these items in its wholesale business. The benefit here is that the items are always in stock in the event of back orders.
